Metabolic Gene Expression Changes in Neural Organoids During Key Timepoints in Development

This research investigates the metabolic programs and alterations in glycolysis that influence neural development in distinct neural cell types. By studying gene expression changes of glycolysis genes in neural organoids, derived from human pluripotent stem cells, the research team aims to understand the normal function of metabolism in the development of human progenitors and neurons and the consequences of impaired glucose metabolism on cellular growth and differentiation. The findings contribute to the research team’s understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying brain development, identifying factors contributing to abnormal brain development, and providing insights for therapeutic strategies in neurological disorders.
