Characterizing Anti-Perovskite Films for Solid-State Electrolytes in Batteries
This project was designed to explore the performance of anti-perovskite films as solid-state electrolytes for use in battery cells using a new chemistry. Thin films of this material were created by dissolving low-cost powder precursors and spin-coating the solution onto silicon substrates. The films were analyzed using optical and electron microscopy, fracture testing, profilometry, X-ray diffraction, and ionic conductivity testing. With initial measurements of ionic conductivity greater than 10-5S/cm, this material appears to be a promising solid-state electrolyte in next-generation batteries.
