ConCreate: Designing an Additively Manufacturable Concrete Mix with Recycled Glass

Concrete is the most widely used material in the world.  It is also a large contributor to global CO2 emissions and industrial mineral extraction.  Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, has begun to democratize, innovate, and economize production in many industries.  We have demonstrated the viability of 3D printing concrete using a sustainable supply chain, by integrating waste glass into an extrudable concrete mix that can be processed into a high strength concrete product in a variety of form factors.
