Engineering, Border Walls and Wildlife
The purpose of this study is to research and assess engineering considerations of the impact of border barriers on wildlife. This study focuses on if or how engineers and their firms make those considerations, such as through design modifications. Barriers can obstruct or impede wildlife movements, which may influence resource acquisition, as well as impact the structure and function of ecological communities. This is particularly important due to increasing habitat loss, urban development, and climate change. Research methods included outreaching and literature analysis of journal articles, reports, project plans for construction, and relevant environmental laws.
