Exploration of Potential Anisotropic Optical Properties of Triclinic SiGe Lattices

This project uses Ab Initio and Density Functional Theory, to simulate and predict light emission from triclinic silicon-germanium alloys. With atomic level simulations done on the Vienna Ab initio Simulation Package (VASP) of triclinic lattices to observe potential direct band gaps. With silicon light emission comes the viability of communication through photons, enabling data to be moved at high speeds. This work will be expanded in the future with the exploration of creating these lattices in a lab.
