Utilizing Siloxane-Based Nanoprobes for the In-Line Monitoring of Neural Progenitor Cells In-Vitro

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is one of the top leading causes of death in the U.S. Cell therapies for AD using neural progenitor cells (NPC) have been tested, but it is unknown if they are safe and efficient once inside the body. By developing an effective cell labeling method utilizing siloxane-based nanoprobes that allows for the in-line monitoring of NPC in-vitro, the effectiveness of cell therapies can be analyzed. Optimal labeling concentrations and fluorescent imaging settings were validated in multiple cellular models and successful tracking of the nanoprobes over the course of time is currently being tested.
