Selective Adsorption of CO2 in Mg-MOF-74 Under Humid Conditions

Sustainability icon, disabled. A green leaf.

Metal-organic frameworks, also known as MOFs, can be artificially synthesized, and Mg-MOF-74 has been selected. The research analyzes the carbon dioxide adsorption selectivity among ambient air and the functional ability in humid environments. The study concludes that carbon dioxide’s adsorption selectivity is high. Also, the performance of Mg-MOF-74 will sharply decrease its absorption ability in humid conditions. Recommended future efforts will focus on waterproof layer design for adsorption beds packed with MOFs to reduce the humidity effect.
