Quantifying the Trends in Wind Speed and Wind Power Potential in Arizona

Sustainability icon, disabled. A green leaf.

The task of analyzing long-term wind speed trends across Arizona initially began with sorting data to show what the long-term windspeed trends across Arizona are. Through collection and analysis of the AZMET wind speed data, it was found that the wind speeds tended to decline with respect to time. In the next semester of FURI the data will be analyzed to further define the wind trends in Arizona with respect to urbanization as well as find ideal placements for wind turbines.
