Measuring Mechanical Properties and Robustness of Perovskite Thin Film Energy Devices
Current trends in solar energy technology have developed “low-cost solar-cells” that exhibit high levels of efficiency, enough so to surpass popular silicon solar cells. This technology is called perovskite, made up of Methylammonium Lead Iodide perovskite, or MAPbI3. Due to the nature of this rapidly developing technology, there is not much knowledge about the mechanical properties and reliability of these films under certain conditions. This project looks to determine the mechanical and material properties of these perovskite materials in order to better understand their future manufacturing capabilities.
