Impact of Time Constraints on HackerRank Assessments

Education icon, disabled. A purple mortarboard.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether time constraints impact the performance of individuals on HackerRank coding assessments. Subjects will wear two physiological sensors: a shimmer and ABM headset that will measure cognitive workload, engagement, and distraction. They will also be monitored by external eye trackers and by facial recognition webcams to measure visual attention, engagement, drowsiness, fatigue, and emotional arousal. Through these metrics, as well as a personality demographic survey, the study will examine the difference in performance between strictly timed assessments and timed assessments with time to revise.
