Efficient Methodology for Assessing and Improving Secure Shredding Bin Service Sizing

Sustainability icon, disabled. A green leaf.

Salt River Project (SRP) has been working towards its intensive sustainability goals by repurposing all paper waste through a third party vendor that securely shreds all paper and then recycles it. Rather than placing paper into traditional recycling bins, all paper is placed into secure shredding bins whose fullness is then visually categorized into 25% increments. SRP is then charged based on the 25% increments. The researcher will focus on determining and analyzing a sampling plan to determine how much paper waste is being produced and the financial cost of the current secure shredding cost structure.
