Control System for Airfoil Flow Manipulation Devices.

Sustainability icon, disabled. A green leaf.

This research focused on investigating flow control using surface roughness along the leading edge of an airfoil. This control system will respond to changing flow conditions and implement surface roughness devices to delay stall. The control system will measure the angle of attack and flow separation point on the upper surface of the airfoil and change the surface roughness accordingly. In the future, a robust system for measuring the flow separation point is needed, along with a finalized surface roughness device design.
