Characterizing mechanical Properties of Graphene-Copper Composite Wires
Recent research has shown the potential benefits of incorporating graphene into metal wires for high-power transmission applications. Graphene improves the current-carrying capacity of metal conductors and resistance to high thermal loads. In this project, the researcher compared the mechanical properties of standard annealed copper wires to graphene-coated copper wires through tensile testing. Strain data was measured using DIC software in MATLAB.
