Application of Axiomatic Distance Calculation of Incomplete Rankings in Genomics
The purpose of this project is to gain valuable insights about causal relationships between different sets of genes and diseases by designing ranking aggregation methods. The lack of comprehensive data that can tie alterations in gene expressions with specific diseases has driven scientists to use ranking aggregation methods to analyze the effect of gene-alterations on human body. A stochastic algorithm has been designed as a part of this project to enhance the ranking aggregation process, specifically for partially ranked lists. The next logical step in this research would be developing additional heuristic techniques that achieve better solutions.
